At the heart of SYNBIOCHEM is an ethos of fully open and collaborative engagement. Over the last 5 years the Centre has been keen to reach out to local, national and international academic and industrial research groups.

INDUSTRIAL COLLABORATION

Research innovation and translation is a key activity of the Centre with industrial foresight an important focus.

We are keen to provide biological solutions for industrial problems working with industry on joint projects, training programs and commercialisation. We have worked with companies on over 20 funded projects and formed 2 start up companies.

The Centre has continued to develop local, national and international collaborations to foster new, high quality scientific research projects.

SYNBIOCHEM is a member of the Global Biofoundries alliance (website) and funded research programmes have included waste-2-wealth awards with India, partnering awards with China, Japan and Brazil and new US projects.
