OUTREACH AND TRAINING

Access to a properly trained workforce will be crucial to the roll-out of SynBio approaches to bio-manufacture. An important priority of the SYNBIOCHEM Centre is to implement strategies to engage with, train and inspire the next generation of research leaders in SynBio and with wider publics.

PUBLIC DIALOGUE AND ENGAGEMENT

Public dialogue and engagement is required to promote understanding and acceptance of SynBio more widely and to ensure the research community is able to deliver novel chemical products and production processes that are well governed, widely available and accepted.

Engagement Activities

We host a variety of events and activities to engage with different audiences. These have included ScienceX stands at the Trafford shopping Centre, Multilingual Science workshops at local language schools. MIB Open days and National Science outreach events including New Scientist Live and Royal Society exhibitions.

The Centre hosts training activities at all levels: from engaging with the general public and school children to post graduate education (PhD studentships), delivery of Open on-line courses and technical training for researchers.
